Every year IEEE VESIT organizes an industrial visit for the members. The objective of the visit is to provide the members a valuable insight into the practical applications of the several concepts that they come across during their course.
This year IEEE VESIT organized its industrial visit at Chiplun. It was held on the 2 nd, 3rd, 4th of January 2005. We were accompanied by our branch counselor Mrs.Nupur Giri, Mrs. Sunita Khedekar, Mr. Kader Shaikh and Mr. Sabnis, professors at our college.
We set off on our journey on the night of 2 nd January and reached Ganapatipule the following morning. The accommodation was arranged at MTDC Resorts. The resort was very scenic and everything was well taken care of. The day was devoted to sight seeing and relaxation.
The next morning we left early for visiting the industries. We first visited Gharda Chemicals. This plant is located about 100 km from Ganapatipule. Gharda chemicals was started in 1971 and manufactures 25 different products, 70 percent of which are exported. Here we received a tour of the entire plant and had a chance to know its working. This was followed by an informative seminar about the organization by Mr. Prajapati from the Instrumentation Department. We then continued on our journey to the other industry scheduled for our visit. We visited Vikram Ispat Industries, which is located at Chiplun. Here too we received a briefing about the entire plant and its working. Both the visits benefited us greatly as we all got practical view into the various processes and operations we study theoretically.
Thus the industrial visit was a success and a great beginning for another eventful year at IEEE VESIT.
