OBJECTIVE OF THE COMPETITION :

Play a modified soccer match, Hit maximum Goals and Win!!!

Rules for Teams and Robots:

  • Each Team consists of 5 members and should make 2 Robots. Inter-SE Teams are allowed.
  • The size of the both Robot should not exceed 8 inches x 8 inches x 10 inches.
  • Each robot should have a kicking/defencing mechanism, which may protrude out of the Robot Body by 2 inch maximum on all sides.
  • Participants are not allowed to make use of kits like LEGO, Mechanix, etc. for the body of the Robot. These kits can be used for the kicking mechanism part only.
  • Only Standard 230V AC supply will be provided. The participants should make arrangements for the DC supply or converter.
  • Length of wire connected to the Robot should be at least 4metres.
  • Wires should remain slack during the time of the contest. Failing so, penalties may be incurred on the team.
  • Ball should not be trapped within the Robot in such a way that competiting teams are not having any access to the ball. (Note: Ball will be normal “Crazy Ball”.)
  • Each machine should have its name clearly displayed on its body.
  • The Robot should not damage, cause harm to Competing Robot and the track. It should not leave any chemical/ mechanical/ electrical remains.
  • Rules are subject to change/ modified without prior notice and decision of the organizers remains the final authority.
  • There will be an elimination round, in which the ball has to be kicked into the goalpost from a pre determined place on the field. Based on the timings, seedings will be given.
  • Draws will be taken out and matches will be played. A typical match situation is described below.
Confinement of the Ball:
  1. The ball will be considered as confined by a robot if more than half of the ball stays inside the robot body for more than 5 seconds.
  2. At no point of time during the play a robot will be allowed to confine the ball.
  3. If a robot confinesthe ball it will be considered as a foul and the team will be given a warning.
  4. One of the robots of a team will be disqualified after 3 warnings. And the team will be disqualified after 5 warnings.
  5. When a team commits a confinement foul the opposite team will be awarded a free kick from the place where the foul is committed. The other team’s robot has to stay atleast 8 inches away from the robot taking the free kick.
  6. Rules are subject to change/ modified without prior notice and decision of the organizers remains the final authority.

Field Details:

  • Field will be 96 inches x 48 inches in dimensions.
  • Goal post will be 20 inches in length.
  • Height of the Goal Post will be 16 inches.
  • There will be an ‘Attacking Line’ 24 inches away from each Goal post. A Goal will be awarded only if hit from within of the Line.

Rules for the Match:

  • There will be 2 halves with Each Half of 4 Min.
  • A Robot will play as a Defender in one Half and a Striker in the other Half.
  • Attackers and Defenders, both cannot cross the Centre Line. They should remain in their own Halves.
  • 2 Points will be awarded for a Goal hit by the Attacker.
  • An addition Point i.e. 3 Points will be awarded for a Goal hit the Defender by remaining in his own half.
  • Opposition Team will get 2 Points if an Own Goal is scored.
  • In event of Outside, Opposition’s Robot in that half gets control from the Point of Outside.
  • At the end of 1 st half, the teams will change Sides.
  • NOTE: No Substitutions will be allowed in the Match. If one of the 2 Robots fails, then the robot will be removed from the field and the other Robot will be allowed to move in both the halves and can be used for Attack and Defence both. A team will be disqualified if both Robots Fail and Opposition Team automatically wins.
  • At the end of both the Halves, the Team with the Maximum Points Wins!!!
  • In case of a tie at the end of second half, there will be a Penalty Shootout round with a minimum of 4 kicks. From a team, both Robots will be given alternate chances.
  • The team with maximum points at the end of Penalty Shootout Wins!!!
