IEEE VESIT annouces a Technical Paper Writing Contest for all its members. The technical Paper writing contest has been postponed. The contest will commence from 4th September '04. The purpose of a technical or scientific paper is to present facts and ideas in direct and concise language. It is aimed at the readers' understanding, rather than the imagination or emotions. It has a different purpose than creative writing.

Why Write for IEEE?
In the process of nurturing an individual into an engineer, writing a technical paper plays an important role. IEEE provides a platform to its members to present their paper at various levels-right from college to Bombay Section.The technical paper written at SE and TE level plays an important part of your resume and can also be discussed in your job placements.

To help you imbine the art of writing technical paper IEEE will be conducting an orientation on how to go about writing a paper, the format,style of writing etc. Also an exhaustive list of topics has been put up on the site so as to help you choose your topic.Sample technical paper can also be downloaded.


Rules and Regulations:

The number of members in a group is maximum 3. (There can be Inter-Class Teams.)
The format of the paper should be according to the IEEE latex format (the split column format).
The font should be Times New Roman,10 pt.
The length of the paper can be 8-10 pages or more.
The last date for the submission of the paper will be 18th August,2004.
The hardcopy (printout) of the paper should be submitted along with two Xerox copies of the same. The softcopy should be submitted if required to.
