Transit - the Voyage
4th March 2006
The 3rd March, 2006, was the day of reckoning for 19 able coordinators of IEEE-VESIT
as they presented their very own event for the current academic year, TRANSIT- The
Voyage.
Amid immense fervor and enthusiasm Second Year students participated in pairs and
rushed through the eliminations. Amongst them, 12 teams were selected to enter the
Task Round. Herein each team was given an exclusive predefined route zigzagging from
one table to another. Each table had an Event Manager. Each Manager was given a specific
question which when answered correctly by the duo were provided with a task varying
from simple physics Prism practical to Flash Games, from Building Blocks to Detangling
Nails.
20 seconds was given to answer the entry question the answer to which was name of
a country. Racing with time the teams completed the task allotted and moved forward
to the next designated table. The pursuit for the least time was heralded with a lot
of penalties and an equal number of bonus questions which were shot every 3 min on
a projector answering which deducted 90 seconds from the already existing score. Eventually
the Task Round would be triumphant by the team with the lowest time.12 teams were
narrowed down to 4 teams for the Semi-finals which then had to answer myriad logical
questions and solve a Tic Tac. Two teams, one 'X' and one '0', would have to select
numbers from 1 to 9 with respect to a 3*3 grid. Each number has a nerve wracking question,
which when answered correctly becomes theirs. Alternatingly the teams keep selecting
squares and answer the off the wall questions. The idea is primarily to form a straight
line joining any three consecutive squares.
The Finals were played between the survivors of the semifinals on very much same lines.
The team that completes the triad first is the survivor of the Transit.
