PRAXIS (24th and 25th September, 2005 ) is the intercollegiate tech fest of Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology (VESIT). It is one of the largest tech fests in Mumbai attended by students from over 40 engineering colleges.
As engineers in the making, we are often befuddled by the lack of practical implementation of the theory we cram. A famous adage goes "I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand". Indeed, what better way to apply concepts and be an engineer in true spirit than actually build gizmos and develop software. This was precisely the thought that shaped the inception of Praxis.
Now in its fourth manifestation, Praxis has a plethora of events that will tingle even the most dormant anti-tech brains!
Traditional events like Papyrus (Paper Presentation), Developers’ Den (Open Software), Circuit Work-It (Open Hardware), Code Cracker (C Programming), LiveWire (Circuit Design), Weave the Web (Web Designing) and the quintessential GamesVille (LAN Gaming) complement innovative and unique contests like Web Gothic, NetworKING, Swat the Bug and the dynamic Dalal Street. The ever popular Robotics is in a new avatar with Road Rash, Robo Soccer, Sumo Wrestling and Autonomous Robotics.
So whether it is serious techie stuff or pure fun that you are looking out for, Praxis 2005 has it all. Be there and tech-it easy!!
